If the students pass the Philo certificate they may select a higher level technical school in Port-au-Prince.
Most of these students major in nursing, pharmacy technicians, primary school education, or enroll in Canado Technique, a very good technical school in Port-au-Prince that offers two-year programs in telecommunications, industrial and electro-mechanics, and computer networking. Each of these students receive a living stipend to help them live in Port-au-Prince.
For those who did not pass the Philo exam there are technical schools for them as well. These students major in auxiliary nursing, bookkeeping, auto mechanics, plumbing, construction, computer training, culinary arts and sewing. Most of these schools are within 30 miles from their home. The scholarship program helps the students with a transportation fees.
A technical school scholarship is $500 to $1,500 a year, depending on the type of school they attend.
